10 Days in St Barts: The Comprehensive Luxury Itinerary

Ten days is the benchmark that regulars consider the minimum for a proper St. Barts trip. Enough time to go slow, cover everything, have two boat days, and still feel like you lived on the island rather than visited it. Here is the complete itinerary.

Before You Arrive: 10-Day Booking Checklist

Days 1–2 · Arrival & First Impressions
Settle in and begin slowly

Day 1: Arrive, collect car, check in. Afternoon at Flamands Beach — longest, quietest, ideal for recovery from travel. Dinner at Do Brazil.
Day 2: Gouverneur Beach — arrive at 8am for solitude. Lunch at the beach snack bar. Afternoon: drive to Saline and walk the salt pond. Evening: Le Select, dinner at La Guérite (lunch is better — book this as lunch on Day 3 instead if preferred).

Day 3 · First Boat Day
Colombier, sea turtles, lunch on deck

Your first day charter. Departs Gustavia 9am. Colombier snorkeling — sea turtles, coral gardens. Second bay for lunch. Coastal return. Sunset views from the water. Evening: quiet dinner or villa cooking.

Day 4 · Gustavia Deep Dive
The capital at its best

Morning: La Guérite lunch (book well ahead — this is the island’s most coveted table). Arrive by tender from the Gustavia dock. Afternoon: Hermès, Cartier, Jacques Zolty boutiques. Late afternoon: Shell Beach sunset walk. Evening: Bonito for cocktails and dinner.

Day 5 · Saint Jean & Beach Clubs
The social side of the island

Morning at Saint Jean BeachEden Rock beach bar, swimming in the protected bay. If Sunday: Nikki Beach Amazing Sunday (reserve weeks ahead). Otherwise: Gyp Sea or Shellona for beach club lunch. Afternoon: explore the Saint Jean commercial strip. Evening: Eden Rock On the Rock restaurant if available.

Days 6–7 · Slow Days & Village Life
Living on the island, not visiting it

Day 6: Boulangerie breakfast in Lorient village. Morning at Lorient Beach. Lunch from Jojo Marché — provisions for a villa picnic. Pool afternoon. Evening: try a different restaurant neighbourhood — the restaurants near Grand Cul de Sac or Pointe Milou.
Day 7: Rest day. Beach of your choice. No itinerary. This is the day that feels like the island is yours.

Day 8 · Second Boat Day
Island hopping or extended cruise

Second charter day — different route this time. Ask your captain to take you to Fourchue island (uninhabited, dramatic snorkeling) or to anchor off Gouverneur from the sea. Swim, snorkel, lunch. Return via the Atlantic coast for a different perspective on the island’s cliffs and hills.

Day 9 · The Drive & East Coast
The quieter, less-visited side

Drive the island’s eastern roads — Vitet, Grand Fond, Toiny. These are the local roads that most visitors never see. Stop at the hilltop viewpoints above Pointe Milou. Morning at Grand Cul de Sac lagoon. Afternoon: walk the Colombier trailhead if you haven’t done the hike. Evening: one final reservation at the island’s best available restaurant.

Day 10 · Farewell Morning
Last sunrise, last swim, last coffee

Slow morning. Terrace coffee. One last swim in the villa pool or a final Gouverneur sunrise. Pack. Return rental car at the airport. Inter-island flight to SXM. Book the return trip before boarding.
